2011 Honda CR-Z EX Hatchback

Summary
The "hot hatch" CRX and the Insight first hybrid was the inspiration behind the Honda CR-Z coupe. It comes with two passenger configuration, the front drive, and has a 1.5 L four-cylinder engine joined to a 14 hp electric motor. The combination of the latter is Honda's integrated motor assist system produces 122 hp. CR-Z has a fuel efficiency rating of a viable and has a sporty exterior. What it lacks in speed it makes up for with performance and good driving behaviors. Ride and NVH control is satisfactory, especially when we compare the two-seater Honda Insight.

CR-Z has an all-original 3 Mode Drive system that customizes machines, air conditioners, and throttle response in order to encourage fuel efficiency is greater. Offering three modes of normal and sporty performance. Although the six-speed manual transmission is a paddle shifter offer a choice to make continuously variable transmissions are more encouraging.

Like his inspirational predecessor, the CR-Z lets the driver know when the economy has achieved optimal driving through red, blue and green light indication is located behind the digital speedometer is included.

The Range
Bodystyle: Coupe
Engine: 1.5L I-4 and 14-hp electric motor
Transmissions: 6-speed automatic, continuously variable transmission (CVT)
Models: CR-Z, CR-Z EX

What's New
The CR-Z is an all-new model built upon updated platforms and systems already utilized across Honda's lineup. Built upon the global small car platform that underpins the Fit and Insight, the CR-Z utilizes a modified version of the Fit's CVT and 1.5-liter engine, in conjunction with
the sixth-generation version of Honda's IMA electric motor/battery system. The six-speed manual comes from the European-spec Civic.

Exterior
The longish front overhang, wind-cheating Kamm back profile and rear window are all intentionally familiar and recall the second-gen CRX. The CR-Z's 16-inch wheels come standard. EX models get auto on/off HID headlights and fog lights.

Interior
U.S.-model CR-Z's receive a parcel shelf instead of rear seats. A tilt-telescoping steering wheel and auto climate control come standard. EX adds Bluetooth, leather steering wheel, aluminum pedals, and premium audio, though navigation is optional.

Performance & Handling
Exclusive to CR-Z is a special three mode drive system that provides for regular, sporty and fuel-saving vehicle performance. The hybrid powertrain does not make CR-Z fast, but this one does hold on after a bit of body roll. The 6-speed is the one you want, even though fuel economy is better for the ‘seven-speed' paddle-shiftable CVT.

Safety
CR-Z uses Honda's special ACE body structure to maximize occupant protection during collisions. Driver and passenger have dual stage, multi threshold front and front side airbags. Side curtain airbags and traction/stability control also come standard.

EPA Fuel Economy
31 mpg city / 38 mpg highway (manual); 36 mpg city / 37 mpg highway (CVT)
