DETROIT - Cadillac announced today the 2011 CTS-V Coupe, which debuted in North America Show 2010 at the Detroit International Auto. It combines the dramatic design of the new CTS Coupe with 556 horsepower - (415-kW) supercharged V-8 engine from the CTS-V sedan. The result is a luxury sports coupe aimed at driving enthusiasts.

"CTS-V Coupe married with our most powerful technology and sophisticated design with the most dramatic production," said Bryan Nesbitt, Cadillac general manager. "This combination of visual and technical attributes are designed to create a very attractive option for consumers the luxury sports car."

CTS-V Coupe begins production this summer. Suite of technical and performance elements including Magnetic Control Naik, race-bred Brembo brakes and automatic transmissions are available with paddle-shift control.

Coupe V-Series includes a unique grille that doubles the volume of automobile air intake, an important enabler for high-performance capabilities. It is also visually identified by the middle of the raised hood that gives permission for the supercharger, as well as specific front and rear fascias. Like the CTS Coupe, exhaust is centered in the rear fascia, but with a unique twin outlets. The car rolls on 19-inch cast aluminum wheels, available in either painted or polished finish, and the Michelin Pilot Sport 2 tire performance.

Rear track CTS-V Coupe is almost an inch wider than the CTS-V Sport Sedan, adding the car an aggressive stance and allow an extra measure of handling capability. CTS-V sedan is currently Sports has quickly established itself among the highest in the world do sedan luxury, became the first production four-doors on the street tires to solve the legendary 8-minute barrier in Germany's famous Nurburgring. Slim form new V-Series Coupe and the mass is slightly lower same time ensuring a high level of performance.

Inside, the cabin 2 +2 combines performance and luxury. Saffron new interior trim colors are offered, with microfiber seat inserts and contrasting stitching on the trim above.

Form follows function

Design CTS-V Coupe is a clear visual statement of the technical precision and the car's performance intentions.

Coupe has the same wheelbase with the CTS-V Sport Sedan, but the overall height is about two inches (51 mm) lower and the overall length is two inches (51 mm) shorter. The two models share only the instrument panel, console, lights, front fenders and grill.

The main design features include:

* Classic hardtop styling, with no conventional B-pillar
* Touch-pad for door operation eliminates the need for conventional door handle
* Faster glass angle (62.3 degrees) and the backglass is almost horizontal to enable aerodynamic profile
* Signature vertical lighting, highlighted with LED light pipes
* Signature of the center high-mounted stop lamp serves as a rear spoiler
* Aerodynamic roof-mounted antenna for OnStar and XM Satellite Radio

Supercharged powertrain

CTS-V Coupe employs 6.2L LSA supercharged V-8 engine is also found in the CTS-V Sport Sedan. Ranked 556 horsepower (415 kW) and 551 lb.-ft. torque (747 Nm), it is the most powerful engine offered in the history of the Cadillac and drive CTS-V Coupe from 0-60 mph in 3.9 seconds.

LSA engine features Eaton supercharger intercooler system, premium aluminum alloy cylinder heads and details of various designed to ensure it makes a quiet and smooth power as possible. Supercharger, for example, has, a unique four-lobe rotor design that enhances the peace while also optimizing engine performance parameters.

A pair of six-speed transmission offered in the CTS-V Coupe: Tremec TR6060 six-speed manual with a dual-disc clutch and a Hydra-Matic 6L90 six-speed automatic with paddle-shift control. Performance Algorithm Shifting is part of the programming 6L90 and provide performance-oriented pattern shifted during sustained high-performance driving. As with many Cadillac models, the driver need only slide the shifter into the "gates" to put the transmission into manual mode is more aggressive.

Paddle shift controls do not require movement of the shift lever. Thumb wheel controls allow immediate and quickly press up / down press the gear selection.

Magnetic Ride Control

V-Series reach the elite level road-holding performance, but also maintain the tranquility of a luxury car in the "normal" driving conditions. Technical enabler that dual-mode driving character is a landmark Magnetic Control Up Cadillac. This is standard on the CTS-V Coupe and fastest-reacting suspension technology world. Uses shocks controlled by advanced magneto-rheological technology, rather than mechanical valves, to further speed up response time and precision.

Electronic sensors at all four wheels literally "read the road" every millisecond, making constant adjustments to damping to create virtually instantaneous and the control of body movements are very precise. This is of particular benefit to high-performance cars because it helps keep the car very composed during hard cornering, acceleration, braking and other dynamic maneuvers.

Up Magnetic shocks also allow extensive control over travel and damping to optimize handling for all driving conditions. In the CTS-V Coupe, an extra measure of control is offered, with two selected modes (Tour and Sport), allowing the driver to adjust the suspension for a big tour or a more spirited driving performance.

Braking and tire systems

CTS-V including braking and tire systems are sophisticated, in partnership with two companies known for high-performance technology: Brembo and Michelin. Brembo brakes are at all four corners and include powerful, six-piston calipers in the front calipers and four-piston at rear.

Slotted and vented rotors enable strong initial braking force while optimizing heat resistance and eliminate fade. Brembo brake rotors from using "dual-cast" technology that combines cast iron and aluminum, resulting in excellent performance and weight loss. CTS-V also includes an electric parking brake, allowing more legroom for the driver, the key to high performance driving.

Michelin partnered with Cadillac engineers to develop its acclaimed Pilot Sport PS2 summer tire for CTS-V and exclusive 19-inch alloy wheels. Ban supports high levels of grip in the track conditions, while also affording a good performance on the road.

Interior room

Recaro performance driving seats are optional in CTS-V Coupe and provide excellent support for spirited driving. In this way the performance of 14-seat pneumatic control set including strengthening the seat cushions and backrests.

CTS-V Coupe Saffron also includes a new exclusive color options for interior, providing a contrasting accent color done on the seat inserts, as well as stitching, which highlights the expertise of the instrument panel, center console, door trim and seats.

Steering wheel, seat inserts and shifter are covered in microfiber, providing a luxurious character of suede without the inherent drawbacks of difficult skin care and moisture sensitivity. This is the standard accent, elegant to the touch and help support high-performance driving.

Car integrated center stack trimmed in black Obsidian material that is also applied to the center console and door trim. Just like every CTS, the V-Series includes hand-stitched instrument panel, door trim and center console. Leading edge infotainment features extend to the V-Series. They include a 40-gigabyte hard drive, advanced navigation system with deployable screen and Bose digital surround audio, as well as factory-installed Bluetooth phone integration, all standard on the V-Series.
